Priscilla the Party
In early 2024 I was approached by Oscar winning Australian Costume Designer Tim Chappell to embellish some costumes for a new production of ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ called ‘Priscilla the Party’. It was shortly to debut on the West End in London. Having previously worked with Tim on the Australian version of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as the full time embellishment artist I was more than happy to undertake this exciting and creative project.

The blank canvas was a purple leather biker jacket. The embellishments were variety of diamonte motifs, rhinestones, spikes, studs, chains and paint. I had Tim’s amazing sketch to work off of but also had room to incorporate my own ideas and creativity. As with any client I sent regular photos and videos to Tim to ensure he was happy with the progression of the design and placement.
Ready to party!
After many spikes and sparkles, the embellishment of the jacket was complete and Tim was very happy with the final result. The jacket was carefully packed and sent to London to make it’s West End debut!
